A Dog Memorial Urn with the Details That Felt Like Them
Sometimes recognition lives in one small detail: the bandana worn on every walk, a bright bow tie, a familiar collar, an outfit from a family photograph, or a flag connected to home.
This dog memorial urn is painted by hand from your photographs and designed to carry those details without letting them overwhelm the portrait. The dog's face remains central while one meaningful element adds context to the story.
A Jingdezhen artist paints the portrait and selected detail, then sends a preview with one complimentary revision before final firing.

Portrait Style
-
Closed Eyes: a calm resting expression and the base style;
-
Open Eyes: painted from the eye shape and color visible in the reference photographs.
Use the current product selector for the exact price difference. Do not state a price in body copy unless it matches every live variant.
Optional Hand-Painted Detail
Current standardized choices on the five newer dog-urn pages are None, National Flag, Clothing / Outfit, Bow Tie, Scarf, and Other Custom. These are painted ceramic elements, not removable accessories. The flagship PS-07 live selector currently differs and must be reconciled before its standard is implemented.
Contact support@pawcelain.com before ordering a complex idea so feasibility can be confirmed.
Name, Dates, and Wording
Add a name, meaningful dates, a short message, or concise design notes. Enter spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and dates exactly as they should appear. Pawcelain should confirm unclear or conflicting instructions instead of guessing.
Photographs
Use one main portrait photograph, one accessory/detail image, and one optional angle showing how the bandana, collar, bow tie, or outfit sits on the dog. If the detail is symbolic, explain its meaning and exact colors concisely.
Recommended upload structure:
-
Main Portrait Photo - required: controls face, expression, and primary angle;
-
Detail Photo - optional: confirms markings, eye color, collar, accessory, or another small feature;
-
Additional Angle - optional: confirms head shape, coat transitions, ears, chest, or body color.
Handmade Ceramic Craftsmanship in Jingdezhen
Jingdezhen has been associated with porcelain-making for more than a thousand years. Pawcelain uses this ceramic tradition because a memorial should carry the patience, weight, and visible attention of something made by hand.
Each urn may pass through up to 72 making steps, including clay preparation, shaping, drying, trimming, first firing, sanding, portrait painting, glazing, final firing, inspection, and packing. Ceramic pigments are painted onto the prepared form. After preview approval, the piece is glazed and fired at around 1280 C so the artwork becomes part of the finished ceramic surface rather than a sticker or printed transfer.
Small variations in brushwork, glaze, surface, color, and form are natural signs of handmade work. They make each memorial one of a kind; they do not replace Pawcelain's responsibility to follow the approved portrait direction, wording, selected options, and quality standard.

- Do not use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, bleach, or harsh chemicals;
- Do not place in a dishwasher, microwave, oven, freezer, or direct flame;
- Avoid soaking the lid or exposing the ceramic to sudden temperature changes;
- Keep ashes in their sealed inner bag because the urn is not airtight;
- Wrap lid and body separately if the urn must be moved.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which custom details can be painted on the urn?
Available details can include a bandana, collar, bow tie, scarf, clothing or outfit, national flag, name tag, or another approved small element. Every detail is painted onto the ceramic; it is not a removable fabric accessory.
What photographs should I provide for a bandana, collar, or outfit?
Upload one clear portrait photograph and a separate detail image showing the accessory's true color, shape, pattern, and placement. A third angle can show how the item sits around the neck, chest, or body.
Can you combine several accessories in one design?
One clear detail usually keeps the portrait balanced. Multiple or complex elements require feasibility confirmation before ordering because the available ceramic area, portrait, wording, and accessory must remain legible together.
Can I request an idea that is not listed?
Yes. Use Other Custom only for a concise idea that can be painted clearly on the ceramic form, and contact support@pawcelain.com before ordering a complex request. Pawcelain should confirm feasibility rather than promise every concept.
Can a name or dates be included with the painted detail?
Yes, when the total design fits clearly. Enter the name and dates exactly as they should appear and identify which element has priority if space becomes limited. The preview should show both wording and the selected detail.
Will I see the accessory color and placement in the preview?
Yes. Review the portrait, accessory shape, color, placement, name, and dates together. One complimentary revision is included before final firing, so consolidate all important feedback into one clear response.
How do I choose the right capacity?
Use capacity as the primary guide: S approximately 600 ml, M approximately 800 ml, and L approximately 1100 ml. Confirm the crematory's sealed inner-bag dimensions and leave comfortable extra room. Pet weight is general guidance only.
Is the personalized dog urn airtight?
No. The high-fired ceramic body is waterproof, but the lidded urn is not completely airtight, vacuum sealed, or hermetically sealed. Keep ashes inside the sealed inner bag supplied by the crematory.
How long does a custom-detail dog urn take?
Custom production is approximately 15-20 business days before shipping. A requested revision may add about 3-5 business days. Complex approved details may require careful review before the production timeline begins.
Can a custom-detail urn be returned or exchanged?
Once production begins, custom-made items cannot be returned or exchanged for preference, customer-entry errors, or a change of mind. Confirmed Pawcelain quality issues and transit damage remain subject to the current policy and applicable law.
