A Personalized Cat Urn with the Details That Felt Like Them
Sometimes recognition lives in one small detail: the scarf worn every winter, a bow tie from a favorite photograph, a collar color seen for years, a flag connected to home, or the familiar shape of a name still written on a tag.
The Pawcelain Personalized Cat Urn is hand-painted from your photographs and designed to carry those details without turning the memorial into something crowded. The portrait remains central, while wording, color, or one meaningful painted element adds context to the cat's individual story.
Choose a name, dates, a short message, National Flag, Scarf, Bow Tie, Clothing / Outfit, None, or an approved Other Custom idea. A Jingdezhen ceramic artist studies the reference photographs, paints the portrait and selected element by hand, and sends an artwork preview with one complimentary revision before final firing.
This page also supports thoughtful memorial-gift decisions, but the buyer should confirm spelling, photographs, and personal details with care. Pawcelain will not invent a story, date, symbol, or relationship that the customer has not provided.

Personalization: Make the Memorial Recognizably Theirs
The detail should serve the portrait rather than compete with it. Ask the customer to rank priorities: face and expression first, then the one detail that matters most, then wording. Complex Other Custom requests should be confirmed before ordering.
Portrait Style
-
Closed Eyes: a calm resting expression and the base style price;
-
Open Eyes: painted from the eye shape and color visible in the reference photographs; currently +$10.
Optional Hand-Painted Add-On
- None;
- National Flag;
- Scarf;
- Bow Tie;
- Clothing / Outfit;
- Other Custom.
Non-None add-ons are currently +$15. These are painted ceramic details, not removable accessories. Contact support@pawcelain.com before ordering a complex Other Custom idea so feasibility can be confirmed.
Name, Dates, and Wording
Add a name, important dates, a short message, or concise design notes. Enter spelling, capitalization, and dates exactly as they should appear. If placement matters, identify the priority clearly rather than asking the artist to guess.
Photographs
Upload the main portrait reference plus a clear image of the scarf, collar, outfit, flag placement, or accessory being requested. If the custom detail appears only in a blurry photo, describe its color, material, shape, and emotional importance in writing.
The recommended upload structure is:
-
Main Portrait Photo - required: controls the face, expression, and primary angle;
-
Detail Photo - optional: confirms markings, eye color, collar, accessory, or another small feature;
-
Additional Angle - optional: confirms head shape, coat transitions, fur length, or body color.
Handmade Ceramic Craftsmanship in Jingdezhen
Jingdezhen has been associated with porcelain-making for more than a thousand years. Pawcelain uses this ceramic tradition because a memorial should carry the patience, weight, and visible attention of something made by hand.
Each urn may pass through up to 72 making steps, including clay preparation, shaping, drying, trimming, first firing, sanding, portrait painting, glazing, final firing, inspection, and packing. Ceramic pigments are painted onto the prepared form, then the approved piece is glazed and fired at around 1280 C so the artwork becomes part of the finished ceramic surface rather than a sticker or printed transfer.
Small variations in brushwork, glaze, surface, color, and form are natural signs of handmade work. They make each memorial one of a kind; they do not replace Pawcelain's responsibility to follow the approved portrait direction, wording, selected options, and quality standard.

Frequently Asked Questions
What custom details can I add?
Current add-on choices include National Flag, Scarf, Bow Tie, Clothing / Outfit, None, and Other Custom. You may also add a name, dates, a short message, or concise design notes.
Are scarves and outfits separate accessories?
No. These details are hand-painted as part of the ceramic artwork. They are not removable fabric items or separate three-dimensional attachments.
How should I explain an Other Custom request?
Describe the subject, color, placement, and priority clearly, and upload a reference photograph when possible. Contact support@pawcelain.com before ordering if the idea is complex or depends on a specific symbol.
Can I add a name and dates without making the design busy?
Yes. Keep wording concise and identify the preferred placement. The portrait remains the main focus, with typography and painted details arranged quietly around it.
Can this be sent as a memorial gift?
Yes, but confirm the cat's correct name, photographs, dates, and meaningful details with the recipient or someone close to them. Avoid guessing personal information in a memorial context.
How accurate will the custom detail be?
The artist uses the supplied photographs and notes to interpret the element by hand. You receive a preview and one complimentary revision before final firing. Ceramic form and scale may require a simplified but recognizable treatment.
What if I want more than one accessory?
One clear detail usually produces the strongest, calmest design. Contact Pawcelain before ordering a multi-element concept so feasibility and visual balance can be reviewed.
Which size should I choose?
Size S holds approximately 500 ml and Size M approximately 650 ml. Confirm the returned cremains package dimensions when possible and leave extra room.
What happens once production begins?
Custom-made items cannot be returned or exchanged once production begins. One complimentary revision is available at the preview stage before final firing. Confirmed quality issues or transit damage are handled under the current policies.
How long will the personalized urn take?
Production is approximately 15-20 business days before shipping. A revision may add about 3-5 business days. Shipping transit time is separate.
